Do I need any previous experience to participate in the Workshop on Innovation
and Leadership?
No. For many students, HWIL is their first professional workshop and students of all skill levels are welcome!
What is the Workshop on Innovation and Leadership?
HWIL is an intensive two-weekend-long program designed to provide our participants with a deep understanding of leadership and to equip them with practical skills they can take back and implement in their everyday lives. The program will cover topics such as leveraging our networks, collaborating efficiently with team members, effective public speaking, as well as engaging in critical thinking and problem solving.
This workshop is intended to prepare our participants for the skills needed to thrive at the HGEM Innovation Challenge (HIC) to be hosted in early 2022. The participants will engage in lessons and interactive activities that will inculcate the skills and knowledge needed to excel at HIC. Although being a part of H-WIL is not a requirement to participate in HIC, we highly recommend that you take full advantage of the HGEM Workshop on Innovation and Leadership. At HWIL, you will have the chance to network with some of the most ingenious minds in the world, transform your knowledge into impact, and drive innovation in your local communities. Under the mentorship of current Harvard students, you will immerse yourself in discussions and interactive activities that will help you master the fundamentals of leadership and understand the key role effective leadership plays in fostering innovative thinking. You will sharpen your collaboration and communication skills while working with a team of equally capable and inspiring members to brainstorm ways to address and challenge some of the most pressing regional and global issues. We are bringing innovative thinking abroad. We are bringing Harvard abroad. For more information see our schedule for HWIL Europe.
