Hello everyone!! My name is Esha and I am a current junior studying Neuroscience with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. I am also in the process of obtaining a Spanish citation! In fact, I know over 6 languages and am super passionate about connecting people from all over the world. There is something beautiful about the merging of human relationships. As the president of HUGEM, it is my wish to bring people together and work towards fostering the next generation of global change makers. May it be watching trashy TV or talking for hours, I love to spend time with my family and friends

Hi everyone, I am a sophomore at Harvard, studying Applied Math and Economics, with a foreign language citation in Spanish. I am from Indianapolis, Indiana, but have lived in China for much of my childhood. I am super excited to be part of the team and support its mission! Outside of HUGEM, I am heavily involved in economics policy research with the Harvard College Economics Labs. In my free time, I enjoy running along the Charles River and exploring the New England area. I am also an avid fan of backpacking, skiing, traveling, and trying new cuisines.

Hadley is in her first year of pursuing a Government degree with a focus in International Relations and a minor in Romance Languages at Harvard University. Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Hadley has been passionate about education since she started working with high school career and technical education over four years ago. Her hobbies and passions include traveling, trying every variety of sushi available, public speaking, and performing with her improv troupe, TLA, at Harvard. Hadley believes that every child can be a leader with the right support and encouragement. In July of 2023, Hadley traveled to multiple countries across Africa with Tennessee 4-H working with STEM Academies and teaching students about leadership and education/career development opportunities. Above all else, Hadley knows that youth hold the power to change the world, and she is simply grateful to be a part of their journeys.

Hello! My name is Leah and I'm a first year at Harvard. I'm interested in concentrating in environmental engineering and hopefully spending time doing research abroad. In my free time, I enjoy going on runs, playing soccer, watching movies, trying new restaurants and just generally spending time with friends. I've always had a passion for education and equity which is what attracted me to HUGEM and its mission.

Hey there! I'm currently a junior at Harvard College concentrating in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy, and a citation in American Sign Language. I find it fascinating to explore biological concepts from different scientific perspectives and I'm driven by my passion for advancing patient-centered care in the United States. During my free time, I enjoy watching hockey games, playing the bassoon and piano, and spending time on the golf course.

Hi everyone! My name is Aaron, and I’m a sophomore at Harvard studying linguistics with a language citation in Korean. At Harvard, I am the secretary of one of the largest cultural organizations on campus, the Asian-American Dance Troupe, and work with the Harvard Undergraduate Consulting on Business & the Environment. I have experience working with international students as an English tutor, and I love learning about other’s backgrounds through HUGEM. Aside from dancing, you can find me biking or visiting new cafes in Boston!

Hello, everyone! My name is Adnan, and I am a first-year student looking to utilise my time at HUGEM to help contribute a small part in ameliorating educational inequality across the globe. As a foreign student from the UK, I truly enjoy the rich international community and its resounding presence at Harvard, which certainly helped pique my interest in joining HUGEM. Outside of HUGEM, I am also involved with the ‘Harvard Polo Club’, revelling in the fresh air of the Massachusetts fields on horseback. Overall, I am so excited to be working with the wonderful team here at HUGEM, and I look forward to what the following year will bring!

Hi everyone!! My name is Thomas, I’m a sophomore at Harvard concentrating in Economics and Government. This year I’m beyond excited to be working with HUGEM to promote educational initiatives and inspire students from around the world! Outside of HUGEM, I am a Senior Reporter for The Harvard Crimson, covering University Finances, and work as a Research Assistant at the Harvard Business School investigating how Congressional scrutiny guides corporate behavior. Originally from Canada, I enjoy all things winter from skating, hockey, to even making maple syrup!! Off of campus you can find me exploring the New England wilderness — hiking New Hampshire's Presidential Mountain Range and skiing the North East.

In my free time, you'll find me running along the Charles River, karaoke-ing, or solo exploring!

Heorhii Ambartsumov

Heorhii is a freshman at Harvard, who will become a proud resident of Lowell House next year. He was studying Physics originally, but life temptations are making him to consider double with Government. Coming from Ukraine, he still looks shocked when someone offers him a PB&J, but otherwise seems to thrive. While not cramming on his psets, you can find him wandering in a random suburb of Boston, reading some hundred-year-old book in his bed, or hanging out in Berg for entire day.

Hi friends ;) I'm Nhi Huynh, and I'm a junior in Winthrop House concentrating Computer Science with a secondary in Educational Studies. I was born and raised in Vietnam but my family moved to Massachusetts when I was fourteen. My passion lies in empowering students through teaching and advocating for educational equity for all. When I'm not dyeing my hair purple, I'm learning about diversity and education in tech, and waking up 9am to get Taylor Swift ticket. I'm super excited to contribute my skills and knowledge to HUGEM!

Hi everyone! I'm Harvey, a sophomore from London studying Math and Statistics. Outside of HUGEM, I'm involved in Harvard Undergraduate Consulting on Business and the Environment and Harvard Undergraduate Quantitative Traders. I also dance as part of the Asian American Dance Troupe, and in my free time, I enjoy piano, table tennis, and poker. Some of my favorite things to do in Boston are seeing classical concerts with my friends and trying out new restaurants. This is my first year in HUGEM, and I'm so excited to be making a positive impact through education and teaching!

William Gottemoller

Hello, all! My name is William, and I am a sophomore at Harvard studying astrophysics & physics. As a researcher, I study strong gravitational lensing and its applications in galaxy evolution, the composition of dark matter, and cosmology. As a science communicator, I am interested in the intersection of science with culture and the applications that knowledge of that intersection can have on scientific collaborations and diplomacy. And as an educator, I hope to make quality STEM education accessible to all. Outside of HUGEM, I am an instructor at Princeton Tutoring, a Course Assistant for Physics 19 (Introduction to Theoretical Physics), and an Outreach Coordinator at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian. In my free time, I love to climb mountains, observe the night sky with my telescopes, and go on spontaneous trips.

Hey! I’m Tarun, a sophomore at Harvard concentrating in Electrical Engineering , with a deep love for Quantum Computing and AI. (Honestly, I’m that friend who will debate why qubits are cooler than getting drunk at a party!) Being part of HUGEM has been an absolute blast! It’s where I get to dream big, brainstorm wild ideas, and team up with inspiring people to create real-world impact. I’m passionate about using tech for good, especially to uplift under-resourced communities.

Hi everyone! My name is Kathy, and I am a junior studying Neuroscience and Chemistry. I also have a language citation in Korean. I am fascinated by languages because they give me the opportunity to learn about different cultures and backgrounds. I grew up in Seattle, where I began my teaching journey by leading youth workshops on social issues. I am excited to continue this journey and connect with communities locally and globally through HUGEM! Outside of class, you can find me serving with CrimsonEMS and volunteering with the Chinatown Afterschool Program. In my free time, I also love dancing with the Asian American Dance Troupe, playing ultimate frisbee with Harvard Quasar, talking with my family and friends, and eating soup.

Hello everyone! I am Ainsleigh, a first-year student with a deep passion for educational equity. I plan to concentrate in psychology and government, with possibly a secondary in educational studies! I was born and raised in Massachusetts, so I am more than excited to see the world through HUGEM! I spend most of my time volunteering through PBHA or exploring nature. My absolute favorite activity is laughing with my friends.

Hello! I am a current junior at Harvard studying math and statistics, with a minor in computer science. At Harvard, I work with Harvard Model United Nations, Harvard Model Congress, and HUGEM on holding simulation-based conferences for high school students; I'm super excited to work with our team to support students like you through diverse educational experiences. I am also a teaching assistant for various statistics and math classes at Harvard. During my free time, I enjoy knitting and crocheting!

Hi everyone! My name is Isaya, and I’m a sophomore at Quincy, concentrating in Computer Science and Economics. I’m originally from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I am passionate about promoting educational initiatives and love working on projects that empower students from all backgrounds. I’m excited to be part of the inspiring HUGEM team this year. Outside of HUGEM, I am a Future of Intelligence Fellow with Harvard Undergraduate Machine Intelligence Community and a Student Lead Ambassador with the Harvard Alumni Association. Hi everyone! My name is Evan and I'm a junior in Dunster studying Applied Math and Economics. At Harvard, I'm the Chief Investment Officer for the Charles River Growth Fund, I teach Microeconomics as a course assistant, and I'm a baritone singer for the Harvard Undergraduate Lowkeys, one of the a cappella groups on campus. In my free time, I enjoy playing chess and watching movies. I had the opportunity to teach at HUGEM's Innovation Camp in Manila this summer and look forward to teaching with HUGEM in the future!

Mariia Hnatiuk

Mariia Hnatiuk is a freshman at Harvard College on a full-ride scholarship planning to concentrate in Economics with a secondary in Computer Science. She grew up in a small village in Ukraine and studied in Tbilisi, Georgia on IB Diploma Program with a full scholarship from the European Union. Mariia possesses the knowledge of four different languages and wants to graduate university with knowing at least five. She is also an alumni of Yale Young Global Scholars program of 2022 and Harvard Marketing Bootcamp, and a part of Ukraine Global Scholars (UGS). Mariia took part in a number of community service initiatives as well as created her own. In her free time she loves doing various sports and embroidery as well as explore poetry and cinemedia.

Hello everyone :) I'm Trinh, a junior in Kirkland House, concentrating in Neuroscience with a secondary in Computer Science, and a citation in Spanish. My home is Vietnam, but my family moved to Minnesota when I was nine, where I discovered my love for ice skating, skiing, and the joy of apple cider donuts on a chilly autumn day. Throughout my time at Harvard, I have found supportive communities in all pockets of campus; I found my closest friends through my study abroad in Spain, my home through the Harvard Global Education Movement, and my comfort through the Vietnamese Association. When I am not in the classroom, you can most definitely find my karaoking and dancing to Taylor Swift and One Direction. Hi everyone! My name is Juhee and I’m a freshman at Harvard. I plan on studying Government and East Asian studies and currently working on getting a language citation on Chinese. I am originally from New Jersey and spent most of my high school life teaching Korean to younger students, which I believe led me to discover HUGEM on campus! And outside of HUGEM I am a member of the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra. During my free time, I enjoy drinking tea and all sorts of art such as film, painting, and music.

Hi! My name is Kaden and I am a first-year student in Canaday. I am from the deserts of Arizona, and I am double concentrating in Neuroscience and Astrophysics, with aspirations of going to medical school and specializing in Neurology. Outside of my studies, I enjoy hiking/backpacking, playing sports, and tutoring, and I am currently involved with the Harvard Brain Excercise Initiative and the Harvard Classics Club Basketball team. In my free time, I love to hang out with friends, listen to music, and watch almost all the most popular ongoing shows. Having grown up in NYC, I've had the pleasure of being surrounded by multiple languages and different ethnic realms. I am interested in how language, or communication in general, bridges communities by providing solace and a sense of familiarity within groups. Hi Everyone! My name is Zain, and I'm a First Year at Harvard College intending to concentrate in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology. I am passionate about expanding access to education for all and working on collaborative solutions to global issues. I personally am very interested in advancing trauma-informed, culturally competent care within our healthcare systems throughout the globe. During my free time, I enjoy yapping with my friends, going on urban adventures, and exploring the outdoors.
